The project

The first life-size robot you can 3D print

InMoov is an open-source humanoid robot created by French sculptor and designer Gaël Langevin in 2012. Every part, wiring diagram and piece of control software is shared freely with a worldwide community at inmoov.fr, under a Creative Commons licence.

It is a brilliant project to learn robotics on — and a demanding one to build. That is where we come in: Printlay is an independent build partner that helps makers, colleges and labs in India turn the InMoov files into a working robot.

How we help

Support across every discipline of the build

3D Printing

All 200+ InMoov parts printed in strong PLA+, PETG or ABS, correctly oriented for load, with support removal and fit-checks done for you.

Electronics

Servos, controllers, power supplies and sensors sourced to the InMoov BOM, wired to the reference diagrams and bench-tested before they reach you.

Hardware

Bearings, fasteners, tendon cable, gears and the aluminium and steel sub-frames — kitted, and sub-assemblies built and aligned on request.

Programming

Help getting the InMoov / MyRobotLab software running — servo calibration, gesture scripting, speech and vision, and your own custom behaviours.

What is InMoov?

InMoov is the first life-size humanoid robot you can 3D print and animate. It is an open-source project created by French sculptor and designer Gaël Langevin in 2012, with parts, wiring diagrams and software shared freely under a Creative Commons licence at inmoov.fr.

How does Printlay help with an InMoov build?

We support the whole build: printing the parts in strong materials, sourcing and pre-testing the servos and electronics, assembling hardware sub-systems, and helping you get the control software and calibration running.

Is Printlay affiliated with the InMoov project?

No. Printlay is an independent build partner. InMoov is the work of Gaël Langevin and its community; we simply help people in India build it. All credit for the design belongs to the InMoov project.

Can I order just the printed parts, or a full robot?

Both. You can order a single hand, an arm, a full parts set, an electronics or hardware kit, or a fully assembled and tested robot — whatever stage you want to start from.
